Be there with bells on!
Get in the spirit this holiday season and join Honoree, Christine Knapp, at the 2nd annual Sioux Falls Jingle Bell Run/Walk. Throughout her life, Christine has experienced pain in her lower back. After numerous visits with doctors, chiropractics and physical therapists and having tests run on her lungs, gallbladder, heart, asthma and scoliosis, Christine received a diagnosis of Anklylosing Spondylitis. This is a chronic inflammatory disease of the spine that can fuse the vertebrae and produce a rigid spine. At 19 years of age, Christine juggles medication, treatments, school, friends and boys. At the 2007 Sioux Falls Jingle Bell Run, over 100 participants raised $14,000 for the Arthritis Foundation. Be one of the thousands of runners and walkers who hit the nation’s pavements, pathways and parks this winter to fight arthritis, the nation’s most common cause of disability. During 2007, over 5000 people in South Dakota and 887 people in Minnehaha County were served through the Arthritis Foundation's programs and services. These include aquatics, exercise, self-help and educational programs. Jingle Bell Run/Walk® is a fun and festive way to kick off your holidays by helping others! Wear a holiday themed costume. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. Choose between the 5K (3.1 mile)run/walk or the 1 Mile Walk with your team members and celebrate the season by giving.
